Land & Sea Poker Run
Poker Run to benefit hurricane victims
Big-hearted folks on powerboats, hot rods and motorcycles will be taking to South Florida streets and waterways Saturday as part of an amphibious poker run to benefit the Gulf Coast hurricane victims.

Organized in part by the Florida Powerboat Club, the Fort Lauderdale Land & Sea Poker Run will feature contestants in any manner of vehicle or boat hitting checkpoints at businesses from Miami to Deerfield Beach. At each stop, the participant will receive a sealed envelope containing a playing card. The more stops a player makes, the better the chance of a good poker hand winning $10,000 in cash and prizes.

Donations are set at $100 for each contestant or team. Registration begins at noon Friday at the event's headquarters, the Bahia Mar, 801 Seabreeze Blvd., and at 8 a.m. Saturday. The poker run will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. More information is available by calling 954-580-2582.
